Lots of changes have been made this year regarding registration, cost, payment plans, and available spots. Please read all the FAQ’s below before registering.
How much does it cost?
Hume Lake’s camper fee is $520
In past years, we’ve provided each camper with a scholarship to decrease the camp fee. As the cost of camp continues to rise, we’ve realized this is no longer the best use of our scholarship fund. Instead, we’re offering scholarships on an “as needed” basis. We’re also opening registration earlier to allow parents more time in which to pay for camp, and we’ve created a payment plan that allows parents to make smaller payments each month.
This year, we’re asking parents to make a $95 initial deposit, due at the time of registration, followed by (5) additional payments of $85 each. Camp must be paid in full no later than June 12.
For those needing additional assistance, we’ve reallocated our scholarship funds and now have several individual scholarships available. An online scholarship application must be completed to be considered.
Why do I need to complete a Financial Responsibility Agreement?
When you register we’ll ask you to agree to and sign a Financial Responsibility Agreement. By signing this agreement, you commit to either pay in full at the time of registration or, abide by the payment plan (noted above). All camper spots have been prepaid by NorthPointe Church. We are therefore obligated to abide by Hume Lake’s cancellation policy. If something arises requiring your child to cancel, and we are able to fill their spot, we will provide a full refund.
What time do the campers leave and return?
Departure will be on Sunday, July 12. We’ll gather at 12:45pm for a Health Screening and brief parent meeting before we depart. We’ll return on Saturday, July 18 at 11am.
How will they get there?
All our campers and counselors will travel to and return from Wagon Train on a charter bus.
How can I prepare my child for Wagon Train?
If your child has never attended Wagon Train before, you might want to check out the Wagon Train info at Hume Lake’s website. You’ll find answers to questions, videos, photos and other great info. You can also go to their media page and look at the photos from previous years so you can see all the fun kids have had at Wagon Train!
As camp approaches, you can refer to our Packing List to get your child prepped and packed with all the right stuff.
What if my child has special dietary requirements?
Hume Lake is great about accommodating whatever is needed for your child although there is a small fee to have special meal accommodations. You’ll be given more information about this in the spring when it comes time to complete a Hume Lake form. What kind of screening process is there for the camp counselors?
Every camp counselor has had a background check and has been fingerprinted. All our counselors are from NorthPointe and are chosen according to their God-given shape. Most counselors are already involved in a leadership role with NP Kids. In addition to our counselors, we usually have at least two NP Kids Staff members at Wagon Train all week.

As we get closer to departure, we’ll send you information about how to handle medications, sending letters and/or emails to your camper, emergency information, etc. We’ll also schedule a Parent Meeting where we’ll discuss important information and introduce to you the counselors.
