Keep an eye out for registration information in the bulletin sometime this Fall. We’ll be opening registration earlier this year, so be ready to register your kids as spots always fill up quickly!”
Wagon Train is a fun, rustic summer camp for kids entering 4th through 6th grades. This Old West experience includes sleeping in a covered wagon, learning archery and BB guns, canoeing or kayaking around the pond, and exploring Fort Logan, Wagon Train’s island fort. Campers will have opportunities to play a ton of fun and crazy outdoor games. They can explore the Chipmunk rappelling rock or Burnside Manor, a tree house fit for a king. Kids will sit around the campfire, sing songs, watch skits about the Bible, and hear the Good News of Jesus and his love for them.
How much does it cost?
Camp fees and payment dates below are subject to change once we receive Hume Lake’s 2020 camp prices. Prices listed below will be accurate when registration opens.
The total cost for the week is $430. Hume Lake’s fee for Wagon Train is $500, but because of NorthPointe’s faithful Worship Givers, we are able to provide each camper a $70 scholarship reducing your camper fee to $430.
You may choose to pay in full ($430) at the time of registration, or, make payments according to the following payment plan:
The only additional expense will be spending money for your child while at camp. We recommend about $5 per day.
Why do I need to complete a Financial Responsibility Agreement?
During the registration process we’ll ask you to agree to and sign a Financial Responsibility Agreement. By signing this agreement, you commit to either pay in full at the time of registration or, abide by the payment plan (noted above). All the camper spots have been prepaid by NorthPointe Church; therefore, we are obligated to abide by Hume Lake’s cancellation policy. If something important arises requiring your child to cancel, and we are able to fill their spot, we will provide a full refund. –>
What time do the campers leave and return?
Departure will be on Sunday, July 14. We’ll gather in Building G at 12:45pm for a Health Screening and brief parent meeting before we depart. We’ll return on Saturday, July 20 at 11am.
How will they get there?
All our campers and counselors will travel to and return from Wagon Train on charter buses. We will not be taking private vehicles.
How can I prepare my child for Wagon Train?
You can check out our Packing List to get your child prepped and packed with all the right stuff.
Also, if your child has never attended Wagon Train before, you might want to check out the Wagon Train info at Hume Lake’s website. You’ll find answers to questions, videos, photos and other great info. You can even go to their media page and check out some of the photos from previous years so you can see all the fun kids have at Wagon Train!
What if my child has special dietary requirements?
Hume Lake is great about accommodating whatever is needed for your child. It’s important though, that you contact Hume Lake Christian Camps directly to notify them of your child’s needs. Please wait until late May to contact them as they will not have our camper names on file until then. Their phone number is 559.305.7770.
What kind of screening process is there for the camp counselors?
Every camp counselor has had a background check and has been fingerprinted. All our counselors are from NorthPointe and are chosen according to their God-given shape. Most counselors are already involved in a leadership role with NP Kids. In addition to our counselors, we usually have at least two NP Kids Staff members at Wagon Train all week.
Wait……I still have more questions!
Don’t worry…we’re happy to talk with you anytime! As we get closer to departure, we’ll send you information regarding how to handle medications, sending letters and/or emails to your camper, emergency information, etc. We’ll also schedule a Parent Meeting where we’ll discuss important information in detail and introduce to you the counselors. So, stay tuned and check your email for occasional updates.
If you have questions, don’t hesitate to call or email Laura if you’d like to chat further, she can be reached at 276.2300 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are prayerfully planning this Summer Camp experience for kids and expect God to do great things! We’re excited to hang out with your child at Wagon Train!
