Wagon Train at Hume Lake Christian Camps is a fun, rustic summer camp for kids going into 5th and 6th grade in the fall.
Lots of changes have been made this year regarding registration, cost, payment plans, and available spots. Please read all the FAQ’s below before registering.
What are the financial responsibilities?
All camper spots have been prepaid by NorthPointe Community Church. We are therefore under contract to pay the full camper fee of $590 to Hume, and are obligated to abide by their cancellation policy.
Cancellation Exceptions:
• If we are able to fill your child’s spot, you will receive a full refund
• If there is a medical emergency with a doctor’s note, or a true family emergency, full or partial refund will be considered on a case by case basis.
What time do the campers leave and return?
We will meet on Sunday, July 10 at 12:30PM. We’ll gather for a Health Screening and a brief parent meeting before we depart by 1:30PM.
We’ll return on Saturday, July 16 at 11:00AM.
How will they get there?
We’ll take a charter bus to Wagon Train (cost included in the Wagon Train fee).
How can I prepare my child for Wagon Train?
If your child has never attended Wagon Train before, we recommend checking out the Wagon Train info at Hume Lake’s website. You’ll find answers to questions, videos, photos and other great info. You can also go to their media page and look at photos from previous years so you can see all the fun kids have had at Wagon Train.
As camp approaches, you can refer to our Wagon Train Packing List.
What if my child has special dietary requirements?
Hume Lake is great about accommodating whatever is needed for your child although there is a small fee to have special meal accommodations. You’ll be given more information about this in the spring when it comes time to complete a Hume Lake registration form. In the meantime, if you have questions about their dietary accommodations, contact Hume Lake directly. Their phone number is (559) 305-7770.
Who are our camp counselors?
Our team of counselors is a mix of NP Kids Staff, NP Kids Leaders, and Wagon Train parents. Each counselor goes through a rigorous safety check and is chosen based upon their God given SHAPE. If you have a child attending camp and are interested in being a camp counselor, email Laura to schedule a time for you to talk with Pastor Travis to learn more.
Is there anything else you’d like to know?
If so, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We’d love to talk with you further.

Wagon Train is currently full but we’d still like to know if your child is interested in going, as there is always the possibility of a spot opening up. Please indicate your interest by adding your child to the waitlist and we’ll contact you soon to let you know if a spot is available.
We will contact families according to the date and time they were added to the waitlist, giving priority to those who were added first, and based on availability in the boys or girls wagon. A deposit is not required to add your child to the waitlist.
We are prayerfully planning this Summer Camp experience for kids and expect God to do great things. We’re excited to hang out with your child at Wagon Train!
