PEACE INITIATIVES

Literacy Mentoring

Coming alongside early elementary teachers to build foundational reading skills.

Do you have a passion for literacy and the heart of a mentor?
Are you willing to invest 1 hour per week coming alongside early elementary school teachers in building reading skills and relationships with young students?

As a literacy mentor you’ll be trained and equipped to work one-on-one with K-2 students with their foundational reading skills. You’ll build real relationships and see progress thought the year while working together in a team of dedicated mentors. It takes just a few volunteers for just one hour per week to make a huge impact!

Did you know:
By the end of the 3rd grade, only 38% of students in Fresno County are reading proficiently.
