Pastor Shane Ham : Experiencing A Spiritual Resurrection

Easter At NorthPointe 2023 · 45:47 · Recorded April 9, 2023

John 11:25-26 (EHV) Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me will live, even if he dies. And whoever lives and believes in me will never perish. Do you believe this?”

1 Corinthians 15:3-7 (NIV) 3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve. 6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles,…

The resurrection is a historical reality that creates a new personal reality in me.

John 11:25a (EHV) “I am the resurrection and the life.”

• I have been raised for you.

Romans 4:25 (NIV) He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.

• I have achieved victory and power over death.

1 Corinthians 15:26 (NIV) The last enemy to be destroyed is death.

1 Corinthians 15:55 (NIV) “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”

Acts 2:31-32 (NIV) Seeing what was to come, he spoke of the resurrection of the Messiah, that he was not abandoned to the realm of the dead, nor did his body see decay. God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of it.

1 Corinthians 3:21-23 (NIV) So then, no more boasting about human leaders! All things are yours, whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future—all are yours, and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God.

John 11:25b-26 (EHV) “Whoever believes in me will never die.”

• There is a spiritual resurrection that happens now.

Moral reformation is not the same thing as resurrection.

Hebrews 4:12 (NIV) For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

1 Peter 1:23-25 (NIV) For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. For, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever.” And this is the word that was preached to you.

Jude 1:24 (NIV) To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy…
