Lesson 4: IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT YOU BELIEVE

What we want students to learn: That there is only one way to salvation. The world says that whatever we feel must be right, and if it’s right it must be reality. But the truth is, Jesus is the only way to truth and life.

What we want students to do with what they’ve learned: Be firm in their faith. And to be able to speak honestly with people in their lives about what they believe.

Main Scripture: John 14:6

Outline

(Front)

John 14:6
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

THINK ABOUT JESUS

• THINK ABOUT THE MINISTRY OF JESUS.
Mark 2:16-17
When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw [Jesus] eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they asked his disciples: “Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?” 17 On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

• THINK ABOUT THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS.
Acts 3:15
You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this.

• THINK ABOUT THE ETERNAL MESSAGE OF JESUS.
Romans 3:22
We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.

TALK IT OVER

1. What influenced you spiritually as a child?
2. Through this series have you learned that you might have believed some incorrect things about God or the Bible?
3. Why is it important for us to know that belief in Jesus is the only way to salvation?
